CBD and baby shower – two words I thought would never be in the same sentence. Always pushing boundaries, reality TV star Kim Kardashian West is planning a CBD-themed baby shower because she is REALLY anxious about the upcoming birth of her fourth child. But don’t expect her to be making pot leaf baby shower decorations.
How CBD works
In case you don’t know, CBD stands for cannabidiol, a cannabinoid found in the hemp or cannabis plant that doesn’t create a euphoric high like the THC in cannabis does. CBD works by increasing the amount of your body’s natural endocannabinoid, anandamide, as well as binding to a specific type of serotonin receptor, 5HT-1A. CBD can help elevate mood, kill stress, and loosen muscle tension, making it a perfect for a stressed out mom.
Kim Kardashian isn’t pregnant
Now before you ask how a celebrity is endorsing using CBD while pregnant, you need to know one thing. Kim Kardashian is NOT pregnant. She’s having her fourth child via a surrogate, just like how she had her third child.
So relax. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s baby is not being exposed to CBD, but it’s still sorta controversial for a celeb to say they’re going to be celebrating an upcoming birth with crystals, tea, and CBD. But it’s definitely less controversial than saying she’s going to have an open marijuana dab bar.
What kind of luxury CBD products will be at the party?
Props to Kim Kardashian for breaking the stigma around CBD. I wonder what types of products she’ll be serving? CBD gummies, or baked goods? CBD drinks? CBD vape pens?
So far, no negative harms have been recorded from using CBD during pregnancy. So would have it been that controversial for Kim Kardashian to have a CBD-themed baby shower if she WAS pregnant? We can only assume so.

This is very interesting! Kim really knows how to stir the pot. I love the direction of this move though, because more awareness and research needs to be done on the benefits of cbd.
